Kenacort 0.1% is an oral paste that helps to treat mouth ulcers and belongs to a class of medications called steroids. It relieves pain, discomfort, swelling, and redness in the affected area. A mouth ulcer is a small, painful sore which can occur anywhere in the mouth. It may affect one's ability to eat, drink, speak, or generally function. This oral paste blocks certain chemicals in the brain that cause painful sensations and inflammation. Thus, it helps to provide relief and effectively treat the condition.
Treatment of mouth ulcers and sore
Kenacort 0.1% Oral Paste contains Triamcinolone as its active ingredient, a steroid. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers that triggers unpleasant symptoms. They are responsible for inflammation (swelling), redness, and pain caused by mouth ulcers. This oral paste works by sticking to the wet surface of your mouth over the ulcer or affected surface. It forms a protective film over them and relive pain, and treats swelling and redness.
Use Kenacort 0.1% oral paste on the site of the lesion inside your mouth. Your doctor will tell you how frequently you should use it and for how long you should keep using it. Follow the dose and duration and use it regularly to the most benefit from this oral paste.
Before or after applying the medicine, you should wash your hands properly. Please read all the instructions given on the patient leaflet before use and use it accordingly. Put the paste on your fingertip, apply it to the sore, and ensure you do not swallow the medicine. Let it drain in your mouth, and then spit it out after keeping it for some time. Repeat the process as frequently as advised by your doctor.
Do not stop using it earlier unless your mouth ulcers are entirely treated. Also, avoid eating, drinking, or smoking for at least 30 minutes after using this oral paste.
Kenacort 0.1% oral paste is generally safe and has minimal side effects. Rarely it may irritate the application site, and it may usually appear at first use. Such a reaction appears in a mild form and is short-lived, but if it bothers you, inform your doctor.
Make sure you do not have an allergy to its active ingredient, as it can be a reason behind such adverse effect.
A person having an allergy to Triamcinolone should not use Kenacort 0.1% oral paste.
If a child uses the Kenacort 0.1% oral paste, it's necessary to use it cautiously. Nobody should swallow the medicine during use and use it exactly as instructed by a doctor.
